I am looking for information on a photographer that took pictures of my late grandmother around 1957-1959. The name of the studio was George Day Photopraphy listed in Philadelphia, MS. Anyone with information on this business or former business, please contact me at barker8446@bellsouth.net. We would like to possibly find the negatives (if they still exist) to have copies made.

I tracked down George Day's family and asked about negatives. Mr. Day passed away a few years ago and his daughter-in-law told me there were no negatives.

I just sat down to look this studio up, to see if I could get negatives/pictures from the early 50's. Its too bad they no longer are in existence. I have a photo that can probably be copied/fixed by the new tecniques , but I sure would love to have some others that got lost in time. Thank you for posting this info.

There is another way to possibly find them.
there is a photo group that buys, sells and trades photos, old ones from auctions of peoples stuff. some may have ended up in this group. they even have a convention, it was on a documentery we saw on cable.

some of them do collect the old negatives they find at estate sales or antique stores.
